Thai Snooker Player Claims World Women’s Championship Title

Thai Snooker Player Claims World Women’s Championship Title.

A 23-year-old Thai woman, Siripaporn Nuanthakhamjan, made headlines over the weekend when she won the World Women’s Snooker Championship. The tournament, held at the Hi-end Snooker Club, featured some of the best female snooker players from around the world. Siripaporn’s Chinese rival, Bai Yulu, put up a tough fight during the best-of-11 frames match.

Bai Yulu won the first session 3-2, but ultimately lost to Siripaporn in the second session, where Siripaporn won four frames in a row to claim victory and become the world champion.

This win made Siripaporn the second Thai woman to win the Women’s Snooker Championship, after Mink Saraburi took the crown last year. Siripaporn had to defeat Mink in the semi-finals to earn a spot in the final match against Bai Yulu.

Other Thai players also made their mark in the tournament. Ploy Khon Kaen received the second prize in the 21-year-old category, and Am Nakhon Pathom participated in the Snooker Challenge Championship but was defeated by Indian champion Amee Kamani.

Siripaporn’s victory earned her a ticket to compete on the professional snooker circuit for the next two years alongside other Thai professional players, including F Nakhon Nayok, Moo Paknam, Jack Saraburi, and Mink Saraburi. She also received a cash prize of £8,000 (~฿331,000).

It’s important to note that while Siripaporn’s victory was impressive, the men’s World Snooker Championship received more attention in the media. The tournament was won by Englishman Ronnie O’Sullivan, who took home a cash prize of £500,000 (~฿20.7m). Nonetheless, Siripaporn’s achievement is remarkable, and she deserves recognition for her hard work and dedication to the sport.
