UConn Punches Ticket to NCAA Championship Game

With a victory against the Miami Hurricanes in the NCAA men’s basketball Final Four on Saturday (72-59), the UConn Huskies guaranteed their place in the title game. The Huskies’ first national championship game since 2014 will take place in this one.

UConn quickly opened up a 9-0 lead in the opening five minutes of the contest. Miami made an effort to reduce the deficit, but they were unable. The first half ended with a 37-24 advantage for UConn thanks to a three-pointer by Alex Karaban at the buzzer.

UConn maintained their impressive play in the second half, extending their lead to 20 points before Miami tried to rally. Miami once more cut the margin to 10 points, but UConn picked up their pace.
